An invitation to all members of congregations in the Whitewater Conference (Lake Pepin, Winona, and Rochester Zones/Circuits): Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rochester, is hosting the 2023 LWML Whitewater Conference Fall Lutheran Women in Mission Rally on October 14, 2023. Under the theme, God’s Church at Work = Praying + Listening + Sending, our mission speaker will be the ‘not normal’ Pastoral Counselor, Rev. Steve Schulz, from Mission Central, Mapleton, IA. (At Mission Central, they call themselves “not normal” people.)
The Lord has provided this place for missionaries to stay onhome service, offices where some 104 volunteers work to support their missionaries, facilities for mission events and worship space for more than 300. A new addition in 2017 includes a Creation Theater. Tour groups are welcome to schedule a visit. (Google Mission Central for more information about the organization and read about the missionaries who visit.) Mission Central is the largest mission network that is providing support to LCMS Office of International and National Mission also known to many people as LCMS World Mission. It continues to be blessed by God as a conduit to raise millions of dollars every year to send and keep missionaries in the mission field. Gifts from the Heart will support Mission Central through gift cards from HyVee, Walmart, and Fareway. Mission Central is blessed with volunteers who prepare meals for the guests who are visiting and/or staying. These gifts cards will be used by the volunteers to buy groceries for those meals. Registration will open at 8:30, with coffee and fellowship. (cost -free will, with suggested donation of $10, lunch included) The program will start at 9 a.m. with Devotion by Rev. Adam Koglin and Bible Study led by Rev. William Natzke.
